Process support

Set the course for your processes and projects!

Projects and processes offer wonderful opportunities – it is precisely within their limited framework that new things can be developed. I support teams and organisations that need attitude, connection and a focus on the essentials.

Together we work out the decisive starting points for your project development and implementation. I also support you in process design and support, e.g. for strategy processes. I am also available as an assessor for (inter)national project applications for funding organisations.

Our process facilitators “guided us through two challenging strategy workshops with commitment, professionalism and empathy…, created an open atmosphere and encouraged productive discussions. We recommend them without reservation and look forward to future collaborations.”

“Marcus has an unbelievable flair for translating between different groups of actors, and getting the best out of everyone with a great deal of creativity and composure.”

Strategy process

I had the privilege of supporting the HELMHOLTZ Research Field Earth and Environment (in part with Celia Schmidt) in its strategy development from 2023 to 2025. In three major strategy workshops, top scientists from seven centres developed their joint strategy for the future.

Interweave to ignite

It was an honour and a pleasure to co-design and moderate the Climate Policy Team Retreat 2025 of Climate Analytics in Berlin. Over 2.5 summer days, we created a constructive overview and the team developed forward-looking ‘plays’. Challenges were put on the table, strengths became visible – and I learnt to what extent the 1.5°C limit remains truly relevant. Thank you!

SPARK

Document relevant processes

‘SPARK Transformation’ was an international exchange for the BMUV. 40 high-level participants from governments, international organisations, science, business and civil society came together in five large online workshops in 2021-22 to discuss how social and climate-friendly policies can be reconciled. I was primarily responsible for the design and facilitation of the process.

Quality assessment

Blumenfeld Castle in the town of Tengen is a ‘place of the future’. Jelka Pongs and I, accompanied by the 2023-24 core team, tried to document how this came about and what was learnt along the way.

I have been reviewing funding project applications since 2015: for the Baden-Württemberg Reallabor funding lines (until 2019), as well as the International Climate Initiative (IKI) projects (2019-21), which are worth up to 20 million euros, and the more agile European EUKI projects (since 2023). The aim is always to assess the potential impact and professionally evaluate the quality of the application.
